This Little Babe – A Christmas reflection

Rehearsals are well under-way for our Christmas concert which is shaping up nicely and will feature a Christmas Reflection ‘This Little Babe’ by our regular bass soloist Stephen Godward. This work was first performed in December 2011 in Derby Cathedral and St Margaret’s Church, Swinton. It’s a collection of several items: This Little Babe; Natus est de virgine; These are the signs; Sleep in heavenly peace; So short a time; and Wassail (from The Brincliffe Consort 2008).

It’s the first work we’ve sung by Stephen and is the ideal preparation for us as we get ready to give a world premiere to his ‘Requiem’ for Soprano solo and Chorus, which we’ll be performing at our very special Easter Concert. We hope to see you in December and then at Easter.
